Practice Runs
A limited number of practice runs at Alamar Farm will be available on Thursday, October 6 at $30/run. If you’re interested, contact Joanne Williamson at balgrae@ix.netcom.com and indicate how many runs you’d like, the course you’d like to practice on, and the stock you want to practice with.
Farm Dog Certification and Instinct Testing
We are offering Farm Dog Certification tests on Saturday, October 3 after the trial classes have been completed. Two limited entry tests will be carried out concurrently so that your beardies will have another opportunity to earn a title. BCCA members Beth Wasik and Maryann Szalka will be our FDC judges. On Sunday, October 4, after the herding trials have been completed, we will also offer a BCCA instinct test. This non-competitive test is open to all beardies, 6 months of age or older, and requires no previous training. The purpose of this Instinct test is to assess the innate herding capability of individual Beardies and to encourage owners to undertake herding training with their dogs. Beardies earning a passing evaluation will be granted the honorary HIC title by the BCCA and will receive a certificate from the club acknowledging this accomplishment. Qualifiers will also receive a rosette and dog toy.

Meals
If you are planning to enter the FDC or HIC tests, please consider joining us at the farm for lunch. A home-made barbecue buffet will be available both days; a salad-only option is also available. You can sign up for these meals on the Master Registration form.
The herding dinner will take place on Saturday night at the host hotel. The meal will be an Italian buffet, and the cost is $35/person. Contact Joanne Williamson for all the details.
